Muslim History Should Be Included In School Syllabus, Urge Campaigners Curriculum For Cohesion

Faith campaigners have called on the government to include more Muslim history in the national curriculum, as a way of engaging young Muslim pupils, and educating non-Muslims about the contributions of the Islamic world to science and philosophy.

.... But campaign group Curriculum for Cohesion, backed by the Muslim Council of Britain, claims the draft curriculum " excludes all reference to Muslims and Islam" and are urging teachers and members of the public to appeal to the government before the consultation ends next week.

[A COMMENT] The early Arab world made a number of significant contributions to algebra, science, astronomy etc. Then Islam came along .... and religious superstition took over from rational thought.

That probably explains why Muslims only won 2 of the 549 Nobel Prizes awarded in the three science categories between 1901 and 2011. That is a third of one percent despite making up 20% of the world's population...

Rather than more religious nonsense being taught in schools, the teaching of religion should be banned by law, full stop.
