Birmingham Muslim MP Khalid Mahmood says city schools are being targeted by Islamic fundamentalists

A Birmingham MP has claimed hard-line Muslims are trying to ‘indoctrinate’ pupils at some inner-city schools.

Perry Barr MP Khalid Mahmood spoke after new claims emerged that up to twelve schools are being looked at by the Department for Education and Ofsted.

Allegations of an organised plot by fundamentalists to take over secular schools, dubbed operation Trojan Horse, are currently under investigation by Birmingham City Council.

A supposed leaked document outlined an alleged campaign to use ‘dirty tricks’ to sideline non-Muslim headteachers and staff, replacing them with staff sympathetic to the hard-line view. [Birmingham Mail] Read more
