A British newsreader has caused outcry in Saudi Arabia after reading a news bulletin for a government television channel ‘bare-headed’.
The unnamed female presenter broadcasted the bulletin from London for Al Ekhbariya, the state-owned news channel, with her dark brown hair loose around her shoulders and wearing a black jacket.
Her appearance is believed to be a first for a government-owned channel in Saudi Arabia, although women have appeared without veils or headscarfs on other non-state owned channels. [METRO] Read more
