Muslim road rage driver who hadn’t eaten for 20 days during Ramadan has jail sentence cut

A MUSLIM road-rage driver who sent five men flying "like skittles" after mowing them down in his van during Ramadan has had his prison sentence cut.

.... Judge Jeremy Carey claimed that Aslam had "used the car as a weapon."

However, he noted that there was "substantial mitigation" and that the driver had not received sufficient credit for his guilty pleas.

It was also claimed that Aslam was a "quiet" family man and had been fasting for 20 days at the time of the incident.

The court heard how three of the pedestrians were left injured in the road rage, but none seriously.

One was flung onto the road, another struck the bonnet "full in the face" and the last "hit the dead centre of the bonnet." [Daily Express] Read more
